The Sächsische Dampfschiffahrt has a diverse fleet that includes 13 different vessels. This allows an ideal degree of customization for any charter cruise! For any kind of event, you will find the vessel that is best suited for you! Chose between two small motor launches, two elegant salon ships and nine authentic paddle steamers.

 

Depending on the size of the ship, anywhere between 35 or 526 dining seats are available.

“Leipzig”

PS “Leipzig” was built in 1929 and therefore is both the youngest and largest of all nine steamers in the fleet. It has a powerful, two-cylinder inclined steam engine which is well visible from the main deck. Enjoy strolling over the spacious decks of the “Leipzig” or dining in one of the splendid salons.

“Dresden”

PS “Dresden” was built in 1926 and serves as the proud flagship of the Saxon fleet. It has a powerful, two-cylinder inclined steam engine which is well visible from the main deck. Enjoy strolling over the spacious decks of the “Dresden” or dining in one of the splendid salons.

PS “Meissen” was built in 1885 and is thus the third-oldest steamer in the fleet. It is the sister ship of PS “Pillnitz“. The vessel has an original two-cylinder oscillating steam engine and ornate salons with beautiful wood furnishings.

PS “Stadt Wehlen“ was built in 1879 and therefore has the distinction of being the oldest steamer in the Saxon fleet. Its original oscillating steam engine is technically noteworthy. Enjoy the flair of yesteryear, when you sail on this unique vessel.

PS “Diesbar” was built in 1884. It is the only steamer of the fleet that is still fired by coal. It has the remarkable distinction of being driven by the world’s oldest marine steam engine in operating order, a two-cylinder oscillating engine built by John Penn & Sons in 1841. Enjoy the vessel’s spacious free decks and the coziness of its intimate salons.

MS “Gräfin Cosel“ is one of the two modern salon ships in the Dresden fleet. The vessel can accommodate large groups and is ideal for banquets, product presentations, conference gatherings and showboat parties. The elegant dining salons feature large tables and wide panoramic windows. From the open top deck you are free to feel the wind in your face and enjoy the river scenery when the sun is out.

MS “August der Starke“ is one of the two modern salon ships in the Dresden fleet. The vessel can accommodate large groups and is ideal for banquets, product presentations, conference gatherings and showboat parties.
